Kiosk & web
As part of our long-standing relationship with the British Library, we have installed a number of touchscreen Turning the Pages kiosks at the BL, as well as online versions that mirror the same compelling 3D experience, We have also built Silverlight versions of all their books that allow Macintosh and Linux users to enjoy the books as well. The British Library online collection continues to grow, with several new titles slated for 2009.

The Magna Carta is a difficult document to explain. We built a sophisticated kiosk and companion website to help unravel it's secrets, and help visitors find out what it was really about. An array of HD animations, voiceovers and translation tools help users understand what might otherwise be a very opaque document.

As well as integrating a number of books for The National Archives, they presented us with the problem of how to provide easy and fluid access to very high resolution maps (400Mb plus files). We developed our own technology (Stevedragon) to allow visitors to seamlessly zoom into and manipulate these maps at their native scanned resolution, all in a 3D space. Imagine having the capabilities of Google Earth for your collection of single sheet items...

Down on the South Bank we have installed the National Theatre Digital Archive, an application that allows you to browse through hours of footage of performances at the National Theatre. Chose your camera angle, find out about the cast - it's all here.

The Wellcome Library wanted to profile their top 1000 treasures in an interactive kiosk, but also be able to add to the content at any time and edit information presented in the kiosk. We build an application that uses OAI-PMH to query the library's digital repository, allowing curators to flag items to go live in the kiosk as well as edit existing treasures. An elegant way of surfacing traditional DAM content.
